Got a wild robot idea that’s been living in your head? RoboHack 2026 is your 48-hour shot to build it, show it off, and compete for $50,000 in prizes.
What is RoboHack?
RoboHack is the premier hands-on robotics hackathon for builders, engineers, and makers of all skill levels. Unlike conference-style events, RoboHack is about doing: you show up, form a team, and you have 48 hours to build something real.
The Format
- Friday evening — Team formation, sponsor introductions, hardware distribution
- Saturday + Sunday — 48 hours of building. Hardware, software, whatever it takes.
- Sunday evening — Demos, judging, and awards
Prizes and Categories
Total prize pool: $50,000 across multiple categories:
- Grand Prize — $20,000 for the most impressive overall build
- Best AI Integration — $10,000 for the best use of AI in a robotic system
- Best Physical Hardware — $10,000 for exceptional mechanical design and fabrication
- Most Creative Application — $5,000 for the most unexpected or fun use of robotics
- Student Team Prize — $5,000 reserved for student-only teams
Hardware Sponsors
RoboHack participants get access to a hardware lending library including motors, sensors, microcontrollers, and robotic arms. Sponsors including major robotics component manufacturers typically provide components for teams to use and keep.
Who Should Attend
RoboHack welcomes everyone from first-time builders to experienced robotics engineers. The event is especially welcoming to software developers who want to get their hands dirty with physical hardware — this is where many software people discover their love for robotics.
